New York Is Considering the Possibility of Building an Upside-Down Skyscraper

New York Building an Upside-Down Skyscraper

David Adjaye’s architectural office spoke about their ambitious plans to build a new skyscraper. A skyscraper project with external proportions increasing from bottom to top was proposed by Adjaye Associates and will take place in New York.

The building is planned to be named Affirmation Tower, which design will be similar to an inverted skyscraper. The company says it should be the tallest structure in the Western Hemisphere to date. The details of the project are still unclear at this early stage. It is assumed that the upside-down skyscraper will be located in Manhattan.

Adjaye Associates plan to build a skyscraper

The skyscraper shape will consist of a series of block sections stacked on top of each other. They will create a stepped profile that increases in width as they go up. The height of the building will be 506 meters, and although the press release says that the Affirmation Tower will be the tallest building, One World Trade Center 1 still owns this title whose high reaches 546 meters.

However, the building will certainly be the second tallest skyscraper in the west and the 11th tallest in the world. Inside the skyscraper will be commercial office space, as well as two hotels, an observation deck, and an ice rink.
