In order to celebrate the first day of Indigenous People’s Month, Google decided to honor the late Zuni Pueblo by launching a Doodle on its homepage. The artist who was We:wa is known for producing woven products and ceramics during the 19th century.

He was born in 1849 and referred to a category for a person with a male body who performed feminine tasks and wore feminine attire.

However, this didn’t prevent the artist to learn how to create textiles, which was then considered a male task. In addition, he worked as a farmer, and this kind of occupation had also been reserved for men. As a result, We:wa has mastered various forms of art-making, and they also got medicinal knowledge.
