Janet Echelman Worked on the Large Sculpture Special for the Mercedes Benz’s Exhibition

The artist from America, Janet Echelman, has recently presented her latest work special for the International Motor Show. In cooperation with Mercedes Benz, she created a large sculpture called Earth Time 1.26 that can be seen in Munich during IAA Mobility 2021. The living work of art is all made of recyclable fibers and symbolizes the dynamic nature of our system which is constantly changing. The sustainability goal meets the car brand’s theme of sustainable solutions for the future.

The 3D model of installation can change its shape and color and is constantly in motion, intertwining with the urban space. And despite the fact that it is made of high-tech woven fibers and looks like a fishing net, it is stronger in weight than steel.

Janet Echelman’s sculpture, designed in multiple colors, will be displayed at the car show which will take place in Munich. The city’s Department of Culture along with the Museum of Urban and Contemporary Art has already revealed the art installation which was opened on August 13. The exhibition will be available for visitors starting from September 7 to early October.
