Remember the Time show which consists of four tours has recently debuted in Los Angeles. The artist from Chicago, Kayla Mahaffey, presented her solo exhibition at Thinkspace Projects.

The works of the pop artist have a nostalgic effect but at the same time, they are yet funny. As we often reverse the chaos of real life, Mahaffey offers an escape from the severe world by being a child in her artwork.

With the help of bright colors in combination with cartoon shapes, the artist illustrates the summer days, peace, and quiet. Adding some iconic toys such as Nintendo gaming console and different dolls, she depicts the wild and limitless imagination we have as children. All these details evoke in our minds touching memories of when we used to play long in the summer evenings with friends.

Mahaffey’s hyper-reality artworks with the flashbacks of childhood are on display at LA’s Thinkspace Projects. The exhibition will be available until October 9. You will find other details concerning the artist’s forthcoming shows on the gallery’s website.
