Pop Art Campaign Pays Tribute

Yesterday on August 9th, special for International Day of the World’s Indigenous People, two non-profit organizations from Seattle collaborated and presented the Thriving Peoples, Thriving Places campaign. Nia Tero, which is focused on prosperous communities, and the Amplifier lab launched the exhibition which consists of six portraits selected by the artist and illustrator Tracie Ching. The artworks will be available both in digital versions and at public art events that will take place in such cities as Seattle, New York, London, and others. The project praises indigenous women who have acted as guardians of the Earth’s biodiversity by inspiring people to take action. The campaign also represents the experiences of indigenous peoples and their heritage.

Indigenous Women and Their Heritage in Pop Art

The result of this joint work features nine indigenous women who are real examples of what we can do in order to protect the health and future of the planet. They come from communities from all around the world, starting from New Zealand and ending with Scandinavia and the north part of the world.

People in Pop Art Contribute to the Planet

But despite their big contributions to society, the women continue to undergo various discrimination, human trafficking, lack of access to the lands, poor health care, and violence. That’s why their voices should be heard. They help not only their own communities, but all inhabitants of the planet, so let’s celebrate and follow them.
